OK, back to that personal story, first the SCAM. Perhaps you know what I’m talking about because believe me, they’re out there.

So I’m surfing the net and I stumble upon what looks like a legitimate work from home business. And right away I notice the site is making outrageous income claims of making something like $1.2 million in as little as six weeks. No initial payment needed. All I had to do was put my name, phone number and email in the form……. get a free e- book….. and I’d get a call in a few days. Yea, I’m skeptical but what the heck, let’s see what it’s all about! So I submit my information. Then the call came…. but not in a couple days…... in like ten minutes. Next thing I know, I’m on the phone with this silky smooth sales guy. Talk about selling ice to the Eskimos….. this dude could sell a walk in refrigerator full and make them feel like they were getting the bargain of a lifetime.

Now, being the nice guy that I am, I listen to his shpeel. And man was he ever pouring it on!…..telling me how he makes bookoo bucks, owns a mansion at the beach, drives a shiny new red Ferrari, takes vacations to Borah Borah and get this…… works 20 minutes a day! I mean I heard this guy’s entire rags to riches story. But, not one thing about the legitimate work from home business. Finally, I catch him between breaths. Ah, here’s my chance…… to find out about this incredible business….ask a couple questions. Well, not really, he just cut me off and went back into super sales mode….. blah, blah blah.

Then the hard close. Get this! He expected me to get in my car, drive to a western union station and wire him a check for $495, made out to Bella Rosa! In exchange, I’d get the incredible business in a box…. complete with videos, more books, tutorials and a simple step-by-step two week training guide that would get me completely set up within nanno seconds. My friend, this is the epitome of a SCAM! Run for the hills…..do not fall for something like this (I hung up and couldn’t believe what I just heard).
OK, so if that’s a scam, then what’s a legitimate work from home business? I'd like to share with you the key ingredients that I look for in a
successful home business:

Leadership
Take note of how established the business is. In this industry anything over two years is fantastic. Keep in mind, the internet has only been around for a relatively short period of time. So you want to look for an established business model operated by a leadership team with a positive mission. Certainly one that you identify with.
Income Potential
Really investigate how you’re going to make money with the legitimate work from home business. See through any outrageous income claims like I mention above. Keep a sharp eye out for multiple streams of income and residual revenue potential. I really have to emphasize that point…..think multiple streams and residual income.
Unique Product or Service
Make sure you feel comfortable with the product or service that you’re marketing. To truly sell something, you have to believe in it from the bottom of your heart. Your passion needs to shine through. The product itself should also be unique or not easily duplicated.
All Systems Go
A legitimate work from home business should provide a web site or internet marketing system. Obviously, the more you have to do yourself, the longer it’s going to take to start making the bucks. Ideally, you need a funnel system with multiple web sites, hosting, a merchant account, an auto responder for follow up, maybe even a call center or support team to take orders. The quicker you get a system in place, the more time you’ll have to do income producing activities.
Training
Notice what kind of training you’ll receive because inevitably you’re going to get stuck. Is the support just through email or do you get live phone assistance? Do they hold webinars and seminars to deliver valuable tips? My favorite home business is one that provides a mentor or coaching from in house experts. That’s awesome.
Community
The best work from home business has a robust community, eager to help….. especially if you’re new. You’ll find them in the forum so sign up as soon as possible and introduce yourself. Take advantage of the topics and get involved in the discussion. Give value and you’ll be accepted with open arms in no time. So, now that we know the difference between a Scam and a legitimate business. Let's officially see the
best work from home businesses.
